Photography Session at APAC Rescue Horses

   A Fabulous Morning of Photography for You, Your family, Your Pets and Your Loved Ones!!

Sara Gonzalez from Fotos y Mascotas will be at APAC Rescue Horses Sunday morning 27th May 10-1pm taking her spectacular pictures.
You will be able to choose your favourite shots and purchase them for 3 euros per Foto. The Fotos will then be emailed directly to you, as many or a little as you would like.

A percentage of the price of your pictures will be donated to APAC Rescue Horses to help with their food and care.

Tapas & Drinks available for 1 euro each.

You are very welcome to bring your pets to enjoy this amazing opportunity, we only ask that all animals be on a lead and under control. No pets will be allowed to roam free without supervision due to the high levels of animals visiting, thank you for your Attention 🙂

Podrás elegir tus fotos favoritas y comprarlas por 3 euros por foto. Las Fotos se enviarán por correo electrónico directamente a usted, tanto o tan poco como desee.

Un porcentaje del precio de sus imágenes será donado a APAC Rescue Horses para ayudar con su comida y cuidado.

Tapas y bebidas disponibles por 1 euro cada una. Le invitamos a traer a sus mascotas para disfrutar de esta increíble oportunidad, solo pedimos que todos los animales estén con una correa y bajo control. No se permitirá que las mascotas vaguen libremente sin supervisión debido a los altos niveles de animales que visitan, gracias por su atención 🙂

Una protectora de la Xara que ha salvado a 200 caballos se queda sin terreno para sus equinos

Los animales también salieron malparados de la crisis. Muchos dueños de caballos y propietarios de hípicas que quebraron se afanaron en desprenderse de ellos. El problema de abandono hubiera sido brutal en la Marina Alta de no existir asociaciones como la protectora de la Xara Amigos del Caballo (Apac). Su presidenta, Lois Ford, explicó ayer a este diario que en los últimos años han acogido a más de doscientos caballos. «Incluso nos llegaban caballos que habían sufrido malos tratos. Ahora no es como en esos años. No hay tanto abandono. Fue una época muy complida», indicó Ford.

Pero ahora el problema es otro. La protectora disponía de unas instalaciones ideales. Tenía las cuadras junto a un descampado de más de 3.000 metros cuadrados, situado en la Punta de Benimaquia, a un paso del Montgó. Las cuadras sí son de Apac. Pero el terreno adyacente, donde los equinos campaban libres y los voluntarios acudían a cuidarlos, pertenecen a un vecino de Dénia. Los cedió hace años a la protectora, que los desbrozó, ya que eran un erial. Ese suelo está junto a la vía del tren y un barranco. Es agrícola. Carece de valor urbanístico.

«En ese trozo de campo, los caballos estaban libres y venían niños y personas con discapacidad a cuidarlos y hacer actividades», dijo la presidenta de Apac.

La relación con el dueño siempre fue excelente. Pero antes de Navidad instó a la protectora a que sacara del terreno a todos los caballos. Ford señaló que el propietario le comunicó que quería vender esos 3.000 m2 y que los animales le molestaban y daban mala imagen.

«A nosotros nos encantaría comprarlo», admitió la presidenta de la protectora. Tienen las cuadras y los cobertizos al lado. Todo indicaba que una parte y otra estaban condenados a entenderse. Además, ese pedazo de suelo agrícola tiene poca salida comercial. «Pero la cantidad que nos pide, 40.000 euros, es inasumible. Hemos iniciado una campaña de crowdfunding pero esa cifra no la vamos a pagar».

«Cuando nos cedió el terreno, estaba repleto de matorrales de dos metros. Lo limpiamos y acondicionamos. Lo hemos utilizado cuatro o cinco años. Espero que el propietario reconsidere su postura. Aunque lo tenga a la venta, nos podría dejar utilizarlo», apuntó.

La protectora se ha encontrado, de la noche a la mañana, sin sitio para sus equinos. No puede tenerlos todo el día en las cuadras. Los ha desperdigado por varios terrenos próximos, pero carecen de cobertizos. En días de frío y lluvia como el de ayer, los caballos no tienen donde cobijarse. «Ahora mismo tenemos 25 caballos. Diez están en la cuadra, otros dos en casa de una vecina, once en un campo cercano y otros dos en otro campo. Espero que esta situación se solucione pronto», dijo la presidenta de una protectora que, además de equinos, también acoge otros animales de granja como ovejas y cerdos que sus dueños abandonan.

«No podemos dejar tirado a ningún animal. Nos hemos encontrado de todo. Y hay animales que tienen historias preciosas. Tenemos una pareja de caballos, que uno es ciego; el otro lo acompaña siempre y lo lleva a todos lados», concluyó la presidenta de esta protectora.

Sad times at APAC as the field stands empty of horses, due to lack of funding we have lost access and the horses have been moved around to different areas   The lack of noses rushing to the fence for a carrot is heartbreaking.

APAC Day Out!

APAC Caballos with our Farrier and his Partner had a day out of Denia helping an old friend with his herd of horses who all needed some work on their hooves. Jacobo Rodriguez managed to treat 18 horses that day and I am sure they were all feeling much better at the end of the day xxx

Thank You Jacobo for helping APAC help theses horses in need.

APAC Calendar 2017

Well its nearly there, a few more days and we are going to the printers, some gorgeous pictures for which i have to thank two photographers who stopped by and donated their time to help us – Ian Theobald from Javea Photography Club & Kenn Walters an accredited photojournalist.

We also owe a huge Thank You to our local printer Peter Read, who is a great supported of the rescue horses, from The New Print Shop in Javea Port,  you can contact him on 603513792.

Our pictures are absolutely gorgeous and we are hoping to raise enough funds from the Calendar & Xmas Cards to help feed the horses through the winter, so please support us in buying one. The Children of Emaus Visit

A lovely visit from the Special Needs Children of Emaus, to visit the rescue horses here at APAC Caballos, a fun day with the children riding and a great cowboy theme lunch.

Thank you to Grant A Wish, Spain – Jody Gaw & Ramon Howard for organising the morning, we here at APAC had a great time and it was lovely to meet all of the children. A Great Cause!
